Catbells

Starting point: Chapel Bridge  (NY 232194)  Distance: 2.95 miles  Ascent: 1046'

Catbells is a popular climb from Keswick.  Parking is very limited, especially at Hawse End.  A quieter approach is from Little Town where there is car parking at Chapel Bridge.

Route: From Chapel Bridge ascend the road to Little Town and find the rising bridleway to Hause Gate.  Turn up to the summit of Catbells.  Descend awkward rocks to Skelgill Bank.  Descend into the Newlands valley and pick up the path from Skelgill, which leads back to Little Town and the starting point.
